Our 18th Annual Ashworth Brothers 2MAN was a little hotter than usual in more ways than the outside temperature  The last two years our time in the Sierra’s has been cooler than normal with rain, thunder, and lightning in both 2024 and 25’. Not this year. We hit highs of over 90 degrees for both rounds, and the level of was play was equally as hot.

Mike Baty had the course humming with conditions as good as we’ve ever seen. The greens were incredible - firm, fast, and as smooth as the other side of the pillow (Stuart Scott). It was amazing, and the course set up was as difficult as any year in recent memory. Maybe some of us are getting older, but it seemed longer with Tee Boxes pushed back on a few holes in places we’ve never been. Thanks to Caleb and Jessica for that, and for the diabolical pin placements on a few holes. It was a great test!

The Championship Summary

As everyone knows The Ashworth Brothers 2MAN at Grizzly Ranch is “The" Championship, and 2026 was our 18th Annual. As always the Tournament Championship goes to The Overall and “Net” Division. In the Grizzly format the final requires the overall winners to stay in virtually every hole with both balls counting all 18 holes. It can be a grind!  Our good friends from Pronghorn, and the team of Spencer Schaub/Josiah Neuhaus, played solid both days on no sleep (stayed at The Eldorado) and posted -16 for 3rd Place, the team of Chris Cazares/Joe Desimone came out of nowhere to finish in 2nd Place at - 18, and Chris proved he doesn’t really need Rocky. The 2026 Ashworth Brothers 2MAN Champions, TJ Duncan/Adrian Drakulich, went scorched earth and finished -23 for the two days. That score is unheard of and apparently Adrian made everything. It seems they’ve played in all 18 of The Championship, and finally got the W after several top 5 finishes and at least 2 runner-ups. They’ve NEVER made it to the Championship Dinner, and this year no different. CONGRATS to one of our favorite teams. Haircut time!

The Gross Division had its own heat.  Somehow and some way committee members Steve Pacheco/Andrew Whitman finished -5 for 3rd Place.  Though 14 back of 1st Place, 100% amazing that these two could take it under for the week!  Here’s where it gets HOT!  The 2nd Place team of Will Kropp/Sam Braver shot a ridiculous 11 under 61 on day one with Sam making 9 birdies over the 18 Holes and Will birdieing several holes and making an Eagle. No Skins that day - go figure?  It’s always hard to back up a super low one, with another and no different for these guys. They finished plenty good at - 17, but not enough. The 2026 Ashworth Brothers 2MAN Gross Winners are Owen Miller/Ryan Mitchell. The pair go back to back with Ryan Mitchell now having his name on the Trophy 4 times.  They trailed the leaders by 5 shots heading into day 2, and reeled them in with Ryan making 9 birdies over 18 holes.  Owen was bombing it in the fairway and Ryan getting it close and making them all!  Congrats!

Hope to see everyone back in 2027 for #19.  Dates TBD. We're always looking to improve The Championship, and have some ideas that we will be sharing at a later date that might help us shorter hitters.

Thanks to everyone at Grizzly Ranch.  It’s a home away from home for many of us, and we can’t wait to get back.  See complete and final results attached.
