Our team always likes a home game and a chance to entertain in our backyard. It wasn’t always perfect for this one. We had some unexpected rain and cool weather for several weeks before the event, and that became a problem as it persisted into May and through the tournament. In addition there was a scoring glitch with our Golf Genius App, but happy to say it all worked out and was quickly fixed.
We always have new people coming to our tournaments, and we LOVE that. This one was different in that at least a third of the teams were first timers. For all you first timers, we sincerely hope you had a great time and will join us again. We go to awesome venues and provide a friendly competition for all of us needing that. We continue with our tournaments because of the lifelong friendships made along the way. We’re now 18 years, 60 plus tournaments, and counting. It’s about the people we can’t wait to see at every stop. If you can, still a few spots remaining this year at either Grizzly Ranch (8/2 & 8/3) or Pronghorn (9/20 - 9/22). Tournament Summary:
As always, the Tournament Championship goes to the low Net Team. Finishing in 3rd Place at -12 and only two shots off the lead were the team of Joel Keily and Jesse Beecher. 2nd Place for about the 20th time went to our favorite regulars, Kyle and Jeremey Huckell at -13. The 2026 Ashworth Brothers 2MAN Pasatiempo Champions are Matt Savage & Richard Yoo. Matt and Richard traveled from Las Vegas and Southern Highland CC to join us, and posted -16 and over the two days. They were the only team that backed up a hot first round (64 on Sunday) with a scorching one and an 8 under 62 on Monday. Congrats to these first timers and the huge win! In the Gross Division we had a tie at -4 at the top. Interesting, -4 was leading after the first round and nobody could take it any deeper. The plan was for a playoff, but one team went for an emergency 9 and it wasn’t to be. Oh, how we wanted a playoff! There was a 3 way tie at -3 and that was only one shot back of the lead. The Team of Jim Parish and Ryan Kukula won the card off for 3rd Place against teams Joel Reidelberger & Kevin Jones and Joel Micka & Matt Razore. 2nd Place went to my boys Sage Parker & Robert Tomsick. Played with them on Monday and they were really good. They had a 9ft lip out on their last hole that would have won them the Championship. They had no idea it was for the Gross Championship, and snuck out for another 9 before dinner. Oh well! The Ashworth Brothers 2MAN Pasatiempo Gross Champions are Nick Sherman & Casey Ramback. Nick and Casey are Santa Cruz locals and both great players. They’ve traveled and played in a minimum of 20 tournaments (not always with each other), and both are getting their name etched on a trophy for the first time. Congrats guys!Past Champions
