Ashworth Brothers 2MAN Match Play Championship– Results & Highlights

More than anything we really appreciate the support and the fact that we all get to keep coming back to the magical Pronghorn every year.  It’s no surprise that Pronghorn is the venue that sells out the quickest on our schedule each year.

The team at Pronghorn has been more than awesome for 7 years and counting. Thank you Spencer Schaub and Jerrel Grow for hosting us and making it all so special. Thanks also to Tyler Ames (Head Golf Professional) for running point this year and ensuring everything was dialed and seamless. Both The Nick and Fazio as always were pure.  Hard to imagine, but Fazio was best we’ve ever seen.  Nice work Chippy!!

As usual Josiah ran an amazing auction at the Calcutta - what a talent.  Congrats to the 9 Teams that won their Flights, and the 5 Wild Card Teams that made it to the Derby. Pronghorn and the Match Play format make this the most difficult tournament on our schedule to win.  Getting through 5 hard fought matches to advance, and then surviving the Derby Chaos is extremely arduous.

After 3 holes of the Derby, the three teams standing on Fazio 18 for WIN, PLACE, and SHOW were Flight 2 Winners (Ryan Bashour/Steve Pirring), Flight 7 Winners (Scott Baird/Frank Shean), and Wild Card Team (David Erard/Jonah Koski).  The Pin on #18 was ridiculous and tucked back right and only a few steps from the bunker.  Baird/Shean were all but dead in the bunker, Erard/Koski all but dead above the hole and 25 feet off the green, and Bashour/Pirring in perfect shape 25 feet under the hole.  It SEEMED over??

NOPE.  Jonah Koski shocked the crowd and rolled in a straight down hiller in a "Larry Mize” type moment.  Congrats Erard/Koski and sorry Bash/Pirring for not knowing what hit you. The look on Pirring’s face was priceless!

Hope to see you all next year at Pronghorn, or at one of other stops in 2026.  Here’s the tentative schedule that will be firmed up by Thanksgiving.
